Broadway can’t compare to real world girl drama. Friendships are volatile and the source of most drama. Boys come around and stir up the pot even more. There have been moments in my house where all the girls (including me) are in tears at the same time. “Too much estrogen!” – my husband will exclaim during these moments. This is just the social aspects of girl drama. Vanity plays a central them in the world of tween and teenage girls. I cannot see the floor in their bedrooms; clothes strewn over every square inch. This is because they try on 20 items every morning, before deciding on the perfect outfit du jour. It doesn’t get cleaned up until I become a raging mad woman.
“On a good day, she’s teary and threatening to run away. On a bad day, you’re ready to help her pack her suitcase”.Rosalind Wiseman, "Queen Bees & Wannabes", p.2
